It’s no secret that Philadelphia’s food scene is bigger than ever and media in other cities have taken notice. In early January, Philadelphia secured a spot in the New York Times travel section and just recently, The Washington Post wrote about our fair city and its fine food.

Robert DiGiacomo ate his way through Philadelphia and included some of our favorite spots and chefs in his article.

DiGiacomo praised Philadelphia’s restaurant and chef scene:

“Buzzworthy out-of-towners are making their presence felt at restaurants new and established, enlivening a local scene dominated by ubiquitous restaurateur Stephen Starr and “Iron Chef” Jose Garces and known for its storefront-style BYOB restaurants.”

Philadelphia is praised on the camaraderie felt between area chefs.

The influx of out-of-town chefs and their beneficial impact on Philly food is the focus of this article. Be sure to check out the write-up and read about some of the city’s favorite spots and chefs. Fette Sau, Frankford Hall, Le Virtu, Fork, Farm and Fisherman, Talula’s Table, Vernick Food & Drink, Tashan, Sophia’s, and more are highlighted in the feature.
